Kahlia's Birthday

21st June 2007
Today is Kahlia's Birthday, and I am determined to make the most of it! this morning started well, I was all ready for work just brushing my teeth as the phone rang, (it was Lindsay my boss) He said " I have to cancel your shift today as I have soemone else who is cheaper than you to work" I couldnt beleive it, thisnow means I have only eight hours of work this week....I could do one of two things.

1. Wallow in self pity, as this little girl is only 2 years old and with out a dad on the first real birthday that she can remember, and be sad because I couldnt afford to buy her a present or even buy groceries for her to have a birthday party. Be angry about losing my shifts, I could give up and just say satan do what you want, you are the destroyer and you have taken so much already take it it all! Or I could....

2. Be thankful for the day that the Lord has made and rejoice in the fact that my beautiful princess is 2 today! Spend the day being thankful for her. Be happy and humbled that Linda provided a present from her work (Salvation Army Community Services) for me to hand to my baby this morning and always remember the smile on her face and the laughter when she opened that cabbage patch doll - Glenda Jeannie! it dosent matter how she remembers this day as long as it is a loving day. Be forever gratefull that God has through Linda using the Salvation Army Community Services provided us again with enough food to get by for another week and a birthday cake to celebrate this little princess...Lord I am forever grateful, and it is a timely reminder that no matter what the enemy tries to steal you will always provide! and I WILL take back what the enemy has stolen and say...." here LORD....Take it all....I lay it at your feet!"

Isaiah 54 vs 13-16.

13. All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be yor childrens peace.
14. In rightousness you will be established; Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.
15. if anyone does attack you , it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you.
"See, it is I who created the black smith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. and it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc; no weapon forged againts you will prevail; and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage if the sevants of the LORD. and this is ther vindication from me." declares the LORD.
Every day God shows me another part of Isaiah 54 that can be used to lift my spirit and my heart.

I choose option 2!

Happy birthday Baby girl! Luv Mama.

A new Start

Well where to start...Imust say to all you guys my blog is going to change a little...maybe a lot..this blog will now turn into a journey of healing and promises from God. In the last two months life has had considerable changes for the Ah-Fa family, Lei and I have gone through a seperation which was out of my control, and now the kids and I are on our own. Life has been extreemly tough, and It has been hard even to just make ends meet!
But I will not give up.
Recently a friend who was praying with me said God gave her a word for my life and here is how the story goes!

A few weeks ago Louise gave me a scripture Isaiah 54 : 5, then Karyn gave me a scripture a week after that Isaiah 54 :4 then on Sunday night just gone Chris was preaching and he was talking about "Faith" and he spoke of Noah, now you see I have read this story before and never really heard it the way Chris said it. God commanded Noah to build a Ark as the rain was going to come down and the whole earth would be flooded, I never realised that Noah had never seen rain before because until that point God had always watered the soil from below the ground! so Noah being as faithful as he was too God set about making the Ark, everyone thought he was crazy as they also did not know what rain was...Noah continued to build the Ark for 120 years and you know what...he never heard from God once during that time...so he built this Ark on complete faith, just as God had commanded him to do...a God he could not see, and rain he did not know...what faith. Anyway at the end of the meeting Chris said he wanted us to call out our prayers to God, and I did. And as I did I saw myself being Slain in the spirit, and I thought not tonight Lord Asia is here, then Karen Clark came and said God had given her a vision of me standing with my arms extended towards heaven and then rain pouring down on my face, but it was all the tears that I had cried so far and God had bottled them up,and he was saying "Daughter you are forgiven" I then shared with Karen (someone whomI have never shared with before) that I have been very suicidle and have not been coping well at all, she said lets go and pray with Seema, it was not long before God really started his work in me that night, the first words Seema prayed was "Rain" down you power Lord, then not long after that I was on the ground...haha.
After a while Louise came over and I then told Seema exactly what has been going on for me and Lei and that we have seperated and that he is living somewhere else now, she was so sad she began to cry...and then pray, and then she said "God has comanded that you read the whole of chapter 54 in Isaiah....so Lou grabbed her bible and started to read, and man was it amazing,
Isaiah 54
1. Sing O barren woman, you who never bore a child: burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labour: Because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband." says the LORD.
2. "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back, lengthen your cords and strenghten your stakes.
3. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your decendents will dispossess nations and settle in the desolate cities.
4. "Do not be afraid, you will not suffer shame. Do fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of you youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.
5. For you Maker is your husband - the LORD Almighty is his name- the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.
6. "The LORD will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distresed in spirit- a wife who married young only to be rejected." says your God.
7. "For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.
8. In a surge of anger, I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you'" says the LORD your Redeemer.
9. "To me this is like the days of Noah, whenI swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again,
10. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be far removed yet my unfailing Love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenent of peace be removed." says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
11. O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will build you with stones of turquoise," your foundations with sapphires.
12. I will make your battlements of rubies and your gates of sparkiling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.

This scripure was amazing to me, It talks about my here & now, my past and the rebuilding of my future.

Yesterday was an amazing day! a stressfull day but yet God shined through and it was amazing...

I set out for the school run as I do most mornings, dropped Asia and LJ to their school and then started to make our way home, (we being me Kahlia and Mieka). As we got closer to home not even 2km away a car travelling headon towards us, tried turning into a street infront of us! I had 2-3 secs to brake ( which locked) and we skidded into his rear passenger door at 60km an hour. The little kids were screaming and in shock and I was too! As soon as I saw the mans car pull out on fron of us I knew I wouldnt be able to miss him...I thought we were going to get seriously hurt if not die! but we got out of the car not a scratch anywhere, however this morning and last night I was so sore, my neck and back are really hurting and my arms, because as we crashed my elbows locked on the stearing wheel and took the full force of the impact. Any way the police and Ambo's and fire squad all attended, and we got the A OK, the police have indicated the the other driver failed to give way to oncoming traffic and with the witnesses testimonies he will more than likley be held responsible, he still says it was our fault even though he told me he "just didnt see me". Anyway, we are all save and his family is all safe and like me friend Beck said..."it's just a car". And all week I have been readin a scripture that talk about storing upp all your riches on earth, when they are not going to heaven with you...I think that scripture was preparing me for yesterday. When I was talking to Beck someone stopped outside my house and looked shock as they looked at our car...I had no idea who it was and just assumed that it was a sight to behold...lol.

The next issue we had to overcome was getting the car back to our house it cost $244.00 for 2km drive, I had called my friend Linda and she pick me and Kahlia up and at the same time another friend Lisa was driving past and tookMieka for me and we went to the bank and I had to use the kids School Fees to pay the Towie...oooch....but I have faith that we will get that back. I had been really worried about getting the kids to school aswell as the 4 wheel drive guzzles fuel, that was the reason we bought the little car so that we could get the kids to school on a small budget, last night at 8.45pm there was a knock at the door and it was the lady who had parked outside my house earlier that day... she said you dont know us but your son Lei and my son Timothy are in the same class at school...(the school is like from Sandringham to Glen Eden in distance for those in NZ reading this) so it blew me away that they were even on my doorstep, they said they had seen our car that afternoon, and wanted to know if they could help by taking my kids to school...wow....this family I didnt even know came to our rescue! As it turns out they live on the next sreet down. See i think things will get better soon!

Well yesterday was Valentines day, it was an all round great day...full of emotion, I started the morning by leaving each of my kids and Lei ( my Husband) a valentines day card on the bench in the kitchen...each of the kids had a small pressie too! Lei and I wrote them a message each in their cards, and some words of encouragment, they were all so excited and loved the card more than the pressie...they appreciated the loving words and both Asia and LJ kept on telling us yesterday how special they felt.
Last night I went to "Valentines Day" dinner which is held by Bronwen Healy, she is an amazing woman with a heart and a passion for woman especially those who are "sex workers", drug addicts and homeless...you see, my lovley friend used to be one of those girls, when she was younger she got in with the "wrong crowd" and fell in love with a herion addicted boyfriend at about 16...before long Bronnie was hooked to herion and then turned to prostitution to fund her $1000 a day habit...cut a long story short she admitted herself into to a fabuloso rehab clinic, which just happened to run by christians and found the mighty man Jesus...he washed her clean! she has been clean and free from drug addiction & prostitution now for about 8 years. Every year Bronwen holds a Valentines day dinner and pamper evening for the "future light of our world"..the lost ones and also has a "Christmas in July" dinner which I helped with last year, I feel so fortunate to be able to assist on these nights, I normally take the photos, but last night I also got to pray in the prayer room and man that was amazing! there were some women in there that dont pray much and then there were women that were full on intercessory prayer warriors, oh man it was amazing, at about 7.25pm (started it 7.30) there was only two of the 10 tables full each tables seated between 5-7 women, we started to pray that God get these women here and honestly it felt as tho the roof was lifting up all these women praying, singing, and speaking words of afformation and speaking in tounges, I went down stairs to check on numbers at 7.45 and all but 2 tables were full!!! it was really a sight to behold, i just started to cry because these women really needed to be there to hear what Bron had to say...if she can kick it so can they! When they came in to sit down, they were fed a 3 course meal, then volunteers handed out gift bags...each bag valued at around $100 each, it consisted of DVD's, tapes, personal hygene products, books etc...they also got given a Gebera on coming inside and a jewellery voucher which they could exchange for a peice of jewellery after dinner...but you know what, it was the most amazing feeling to see the looks on the faces of these women as they were being blessed with these gifts, and it was as equally amazing too seeing the looks on the faces of the 100 volunteers that were there last night! they felt honoured to share in such a wonderfull event, and to be able to minister to people to whom they would not normally cross paths with...so bring on "Christmas in july". So Bronwen "may God continue to speak thru you to others, and may your ministry to the "future lights" of our world...be blessed!!!

We also started our first mainly music session yesterday and had a wopping 77 people come...wow what an amazing ministry to families! cant wait for the next fortnight! and we had our first NBC Women for the year last week and next Wednesday we have a guest speaker Olga Ossabar, so i can't wait for that...God is doing some really amazing things with us as a family and individuals and of course in our church! Well thats about it for now, keep ya all posted!

Here is Asia...she looks so beautiful in her long skirt!, tie and hat!!!
and of course LJ...so cute!

New day! New School

Well we have done it!
Asia and LJ are officially pupils of NCC, (north side christian college).
What a roller coaster ride it has been gettign to this point....but like always God has provided.
In the begining... haha, we struggled whether financially we could provide this education for our babies, it is not cheap...so after selling this idea of Christian Schooling to my husband we started to pray that God revel to us if this was the right decision for our family, the next day Lei went to work and was given a $77 a week payrise... this was amazing to him and to me as this was the exact amount that we needed a week for Asia to attend NCC... boy God is amazing. As the end of the year drew closer I really felt that Lj needed to be there too, so again we started to pray...you see spaces are limited, especially if you leave your application to the end of the year, go figure...anyway, LJ got an interview the day before school ended for the year and a few days later he was given the thumbs up, and then the next day Lei was given another payrise....again just enough to cover LJ's fees....so we ask our selves how can we ever doubt that God only has our best interests at heart... then came the next step....getting uniforms and school books which again were anything but cheap... but again it we got it all, and our babies looked beautiful as they got ready to leave this morning, i praise God that these kids will be raised up to become Godly, responsible adults...I love that these kids will be taught with love, and compassion. Yeah its expensive, but what a better way to invest in your childs up bringing. here are some photos of the kids in their uniforms.

Here is another photo of mieka that was taken in "Costume" she looks so cute....

Oh my goodness....Christmas is just around the corner! what a huge few weeks we have had...this week is the last week of athletics for the holidays...yay 6 weeks off!! I can honestly say I need the break! even tho it is Asia and LJ that do all the athletics...but just being there 3 nights a week is a tremendous effort...especially with Kahlia and Mieka in tow and Lei at work, so I am really looking forward to the 6 weeks off, it is also the last week of Piano, and the kids are doing so well...their piano teacher is so happy with their progress, they are both playing with 2 hands and they have only being playing for 12 weeks, (louise) the piano teacher said they are both very talented! so that makes them both very happy and more eager to practice too!! lol...

We are in the final week of Ballet for Mieka and this Saturday is concert night....soooo cute!!! she is doing her Ballet dance to "dont blame in on the sunshine" so cute when they do the "Boogie". So that means we will have 5 nights a week free for 6 weeks! oh I am so looking forward to just going to the Lagoon (Man made beach) every night with my kids! as the weather is starting to get warm now, Lei is moaning already about the heat....haha, he spends all day in the cold room at work! and its only hiting about 34 degress....

OH my gosh....our biggest and most exciting news is the Asia interviewd for "Northside Christian College" and was accepted to start in year 7 (2007) so we and Aisa are very, very excited! LJ interveiws on Tuesday coming, and if he is accepted he will start 2007 as well! so we will have to post photos of them in there new School uniforms!!! (which Asia dont like) big hats ties and long skirts...even the school bag is a compulsory Northside bag!

Any way here is a pic of Mieka in her "Costume" for concert!

Merry Christmas every one....have a awesome new year! and remember
"Jesus is the reason for the season!"
